As the title says, spring is slowly making its way to our part of the world. Yes, there’s still some snow around, though we had precious little of that this winter. I have a boat to finish and start using! It’s time to get going again.
I’ve been working on some of the smaller bits that will be needed. The walnut shelled and rope-stropped blocks are underway. The photo shows the basic glue up and a more or less completed proof-of-concept almost completed double block. These will be used for the mainsheet tackle. See the Links page for the link to the process I’m following.
Also in the works are the bilge board winches. I’m building these myself and will be a composite of brass sheet, brass rod, fiberglass, and wood. I’ll add a picture once I have something put together.
